Necessity being the mother of invention, PakLite was Invented to be used on a 2600 mile trek along the American Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. The unit needed to last the entire trip without having to change either bulbs or batteries. Coupled with that it needed to be small and lightweight, ideal for pocket, bag or rucksack.

Tested in the 'On' position for over a year, dropped out of an airplane from a height of 250' going at 100 mph. The units were also tested in the extremes of being left in a freezer for a month and being put through a washing machine and dryer. Basically the manufacturers tried as many extreme situations to 'kill' this bit of kit, but it kept coming back!

Weighing in at 1.5oz and with a long shelf life and a whopping 10 years when snapped to a Lithium battery. It also snaps to any 9-volt battery, and will last a very long time because it's made with LED bulbs that last 100,000 hrs. Now that is hard to beat!!!
